Dear Tribal Leaders and other ATNI members, supporters and volunteers:
We here at ATNI are excited to return to the Northern Quest Casino Resort! Thank you to the Kalispel Tribe of Indians for generously hosting ATNI here in your traditional territory.
Much has happened since we last met at the ATNI 2025 Winter Convention last January. The incoming federal administration was only days old then, and we got a preview of the aggressive pace they adopted to advance their agenda. Now that we are several months in, we see that this pace hasn't slowed.
ATNI is collaborating with a group of national and regional intertribal organizations to ensure that tribal rights are not trampled. This group, known as the Coalition for Tribal Sovereignty, quickly organized to stay in-front of the administration's actions and respond in real-time to any potential threats on tribal rights. ATNI has also taken other actions to ensure that Northwest tribal rights are protected.
These efforts, though necessary, are not enough. ATNI tribal leaders must form a proactive strategy as we navigate this new space. During this convention, we are hosting a Tribal Leader Policy Roundtable, and we need the voices of all of our Tribes to be included. Please join us for this important session.
Perhaps more than ever, ATNI remains "dedicated to tribal sovereignty and self-determination."
In solidarity,

LF
